K & N Filters’ presents the 11th Annual K & N Filters Show and Go Car Show for Charity.  Riverside County’s largest car show is hosted by the Riverside East Rotary Club and produced by the Old Farts Racing Team So.Cal. (OFRTs). Riverside will host 1,000 classic cars, hot rods, imports, motorcycles, and, again, Ken Asche’s 79 Camaro flame-throwing car. Participant pre-registration is $50 per vehicle, $60 on event day.  Public admission is free. Free give-a-aways and promotions will take place at Gasoline Alley, home to event sponsors exhibits.  The show will provide live entertainment, radio celebrities Surfer Dave and Vic Slic,  open header cruising, a Grand Marshall’s Parade, “Best of Show” and top 30 trophy picks, Cruise Queen contest, a youth “Build a Hot Rod” contest,  a charity showcase and bar-b-q, vendors, and raffle drawings. Since 1999, courtesy of SHOW AND GO, $200,000 has been donated to charity.
 
Friday, May 1 (5:30-10pm)
K & N Filters’ 11th Annual Show and Go Car Show for Charity 2009 kicks off the event with an evening of cruising under the stars from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Radio personality “Surfer Dave,” will be the master of ceremonies, entertaining participants with live interviews and interaction throughout the venue. Spectators will be surrounded by a vast assortment of cars from the “good old days” and nostalgic sounds from the past.  A charity bbq will be held at Main and 12th Street and hosted by Wayne’s Engine Rebuilders and Riverside Mission Florists. BBQ tickets are $5.00 per plate.
 
Saturday, May 2 (8am-5pm)
K & N Filters’ 11th Annual Show and Go Car Show 2009 Open Header Cruising all day. Special coverage is provided by Drive Magazine. Participation is limited to 1,000 street legal vehicles now at $50 per vehicle, $60 on event dates. All cars are invited: classic cars, hotrods, muscle cars, imports, and motorcycles.
 
Festivities open with a $5.00 pancake breakfast at 6:00 am located on University near Main, which is provided by the Magnolia Rotary Club.  Spectators can roam the show visiting a variety of product, service, and food vendors including the "Charity Showcase" of non-profit agencies, amidst entertainment throughout the day. Youth corner presents sounds from West Coast Rock School, and back by popular demand, “Build a Hot Rod” family contest, provided by Heart Enterprises. A Grand Marshall Parade, honoring Grand Marshall Alan “Gormo” Norman,  begins at 10:30am, followed by more open header cruising and cruise interviews with Surfer Dave along the route.  The Cruise Queen judging and K& N Filters’ $500 Youth Award Judging will take place in the late afternoon. Open header cruising continues  as our judges select the “Best of Show” and top 30 trophy picks.  Tickets for a chance to win products and gift certificates as well as a separate drawing for a chance to win a 383 Stroker Engine or $2000 cash are on sale through Sunday.
 
Sunday, May 3 (8am-1pm)
K & N Filters’ 11th Annual Show and Go Car Show 2009 Final day.  A final day of cruising is back for the 1000 car and motorcycle participants.  Spectators can roam the show visiting a variety of product, service, and food vendors amidst entertainment throughout the day. Show and Go comes to an end with an awards ceremony and a trophy winner’s parade at 1:00 pm located on Main Street and 10th Street. Awards will be presented to the Best of Show and top 32 picks. This event closes with a drawing of a 383 Stroker engine or $2000 cash donated by Wayne's Engine.  Winner does not need to be present. Show ends at 2:00pm.
